Event Policies
Our COVID policy is – “COVID sucks!”
If you are sick and/or know you have been exposed please stay home. We will give you a full refund. The hotel rooms can be canceled.
If you think you might be coming down with something after you arrive please wear a surgical mask as a courtesy to your fellow artists. There will be masks and hand sanitizer available. We are still living in a time that something that seems just a bad cold for you can be devastating for someone else.
As part of the assessment of the facility we evaluated the ventilation with a CO2 monitor. It was excellent! We will be making ongoing evaluations on site during the meeting, and we reserve the right to ask anyone who seems very ill to leave. We want everyone to have a joyful experience so thanks for your help with that.
Event Code of Conduct
We are dedicated to providing a harassment-free and inclusive event experience for everyone. Keystone Polymer Clay Events take violations of our policy seriously and will respond appropriately. The Event Coordinator reserves the right to exclude anyone violating these principles without refund.
All participants and organizers of our Retreat events must abide by the following policies:
- Be excellent to each other. Treat everyone with respect. Participate, and acknowledge that everyone deserves to be here — and each of us has the right to enjoy our experience without fear of harassment, discrimination, or condescension, in person or on social media. Jokes shouldn’t demean others.
- Realize we are all gloriously unique and something you say without thinking could land differently on someone else’s ears. Consider your words and respond with curiosity, charity and respect if another finds them distressing. Expanding our understanding of others widens our world which is a good for creating!
- Speak up if you see or hear something inappropriate. Harassment is not tolerated, and you are empowered to politely engage when you or others are disrespected. The person making you feel uncomfortable may not be aware of what they are doing, and politely bringing their behavior to their attention is encouraged.
- If a participant engages in harassing or uncomfortable behavior, the event organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning or expelling the offender from the event with no refund. Ask for help if you need to deal with an awkward situation. A member of the hotel staff or the Event Coordinator will work with you to handle any problems that arise.
- Give constructive criticism gently and only if asked.
- Remember the focus of our events is providing an environment for creating, learning and community. There are other venues for societal opinions and politics, and we expect such discussions will not overtake the event spaces.
- Firearms and weapons other than clay blades are not permitted in any event space.
- In the event of unforeseen problems, all decisions made by the Event Coordinator or hotel management will be final. We cannot anticipate all possible problems, but it is our goal to keep peace and provide all attendees with an inspiring and satisfying opportunity to learn and create. Anyone or anything that threatens the safety or enjoyability of this event will be dealt with as quickly and fairly as possible. We ask our fellow artists to help us make this retreat a success.
- Help contribute to an environment where we all have a fun and creative time.
